Global Mode
Usage Guide:
This command is to configure static RP globally or in a multicast address range.
Example:
Configure 2000:112::8 as RP address globally.
Switch (config)# ipv6 pim rp-address 2000:112::8 ff1e::/64

no ipv6 pim rp-candiate
Function:
This command is the candidate RP global configure command, it is used to configure PIM-SM
candidate RP information in order to compete RP router with other candidate RPs. The "no ipv6
pim rp-candiate" command cancels the candidate RP.
Parameter:
<vlan_id> is VLAN ID;
<index> is Loopback interface index;
<ifname> is the name of the interface;
<group range> is the group range of the candidate RP,the format is X:X::X:X/M, ipv6 address and
prefix length;
<priority> is the RP selection priority, ranges from 0 to 255, the default value is 192, the lower
value has more priority
Default:
This switch is not a RP static router.

This command is the candidate RP global configure command, it is used to configure PIM-SM
candidate RP information in order to compete RP router with other candidate RPs. Only this
command is configured, this switch is the RP candidate router
Example:
Configure vlan1 as the sending interface of candidate RP announce messages
Switch (config)# ipv6 pim rp-candidate vlan1 100
