Command:
passive-interface <ifname>
no passive-interface <ifname>
Function:
Set the RIP layer 3 switch blocks RIP broadcast on specified interface, on which the RIP data
packets will only be sent to layer 3 switches configured with neighbor.
Parameter:
<ifname> is the name of specific interface.
Default:
Not configured
Command Mode:
Router mode
Example:
Switch# config terminal
Switch(config)# router rip
Switch(config-router)# passive-interface vlan 1
