Keypad Instruction
Step 1: Power cycle the reader
Step 2: Within 1 minute from power on perform one of the following tasks:
1. Enter * 8 8 8 8 9 9 9 9 on the keypad
OR
2. Present card part# CE-000-044 or CX-001-044-000
The LED turns green and a short triple-beep indicates that the reader is ready to have the keypad format
entered on the keypad. The user has 5 seconds to enter the keypad format.
Three keypad formats are:
• 4 bit burst
• 8 bit burst
• 26 bit Wiegand with fi xed facility code
Step 3: Enter the keypad format using the keypad. A short triple-beep indicates success and you are done.
• 4 bit burst - Enter 0 1
• 8 bit burst - Enter * 0
• 26 bit Wiegand - Enter # followed by a 3 digit facility code between 000 and 255.
Facility code examples – all numbers are in decimal:
• Enter # 0 9 6 for fi xed facility code 96
• Enter # 1 2 8 for fi xed facility code 128
In this mode, enter your PIN and press #. The reader sends the PIN (packaged as a 26-bit Wiegand output
with the fi xed facility code). The PIN must be a number between 1 and 65535.
Example: 1 10000000 0000101010100000 1
8 bit facility code is 128
16 bit PIN or card number is 2720

O = Odd parity bit computed over all underlined data bits
E = Even Parity bit computed over all highlighted data bits
X = data bit
