Enabling the CM Aging Timer

The cable modem (CM) aging timer feature is disabled by default. The CM aging
timer feature is used to automatically remove off-line CMs from the network after a
configured time period.
Use the cable modem-aging-timer command in Global Configuration mode to set
and enable the CM aging timer:
MOT(config)# cable modem-aging-timer <10-30240>
where:
Use the cable modem-aging-timer off command to disable the aging timer.

Removing CMs from the Offline List

The CM aging timer function causes CMs to be removed after a configurable timeout
period. However, the clear cable modem offline command is useful for removing
CM(s) before its configured aging timeout period or if the CM aging timer function is
not used. Refer to
the CM aging timer function.
Use the following options to remove CMs from the offline list:

Setting the Maximum Number of Hosts
10-30240 is the CM Aging Timer number in minutes (10 minutes to 21 days).
Enabling the CM Aging Timer
Use the clear cable modem offline command to remove all offline CMs from the
offline list:
MOT# clear cable modem offline
Use the clear cable modem offline command to remove a specific offline CM
from the offline list or all CMs from a CMTS slot (always 0 for the BSR 2000)
and port:
MOT# clear cable modem offline {<mac> | <X/Y>}
