5 Operation
5.11.1 Hard Wire Base Block (HWBB) Function
(2) Hard Wire Base Block (HWBB) State
The SERVOPACK will be in the following state if the HWBB function operates. If the /HWBB1 or /HWBB2
signal is OFF, the HWBB function will operate and the SERVOPACK will enter a hard wire baseblock
(HWBB) state.

(3) Resetting the HWBB State
Usually after the /S_ON (Servo ON) signal is turned OFF to place the SERVOPACK in a baseblock (BB)
state, the SERVOPACK will then enter a hard wire baseblock (HWBB) state with the /HWBB1 and /HWBB2
signals turned OFF. By then turning the /HWBB1 and /HWBB2 signals ON in this state, the SERVOPACK
will enter a baseblock (BB) state and can accept the /S_ON signal.
SERVOPACK
state
If the /HWBB1 and /HWBB2 signals are OFF and the /S_ON signal is ON, the HWBB state will be main-
tained after the /HWBB1 and /HWBB2 signals are turned ON.
Turn OFF the /S_ON signal, and the SERVOPACK is placed in a BB state. Then turn ON the /S_ON signal
again.

state
Note 1. If the SERVOPACK is placed in a BB state with the main power supply is turned OFF, the HWBB state will be
2. The HWBB state cannot be reset if the /S-ON signal is set to be constantly enabled in the /S-ON signal allocation
(4) Error Detection in HWBB Signal
If only the /HWBB1 or /HWBB2 signal is input, an A.Eb1 alarm (Safety Function Signal Input Timing Error)
will occur unless the other signal is input within 10 seconds. This makes it possible to detect failures, such as
disconnection of the HWBB signals.
• The A.Eb1 alarm (Safety Function Signal Input Timing Error) is not related to the safety function. Keep this in mind
in the system design.
