No Audio

If you have these symptoms...
While in a call, you canÕt hear
the far end and the far end canÕt
hear you.
You canÕt hear sound from a
VCR.
You canÕt hear someone joining
the conference by telephone
(using the Voice Call option).
The following table summarizes the corrective actions you can
follow if you have no audio during a call.
1. Make sure that the microphones and the monitor at the
near-end and far-end sites are securely connected to the
electronics module.
2. Make sure that the volume on the near-end monitor is on
and at the appropriate level. From the System Exercises
menu, choose Generate Audio Test Tone to check that the
volume is set correctly.
3. Make sure the volume control on the keypad and the
monitor are at the appropriate levels.
4. Make sure that the far-end site has not muted the call.
5. If your system includes a Phone-Add modem, verify the
following:
a. Make sure the modemÕs audio switch is toggled to
the appropriate mode of operation (
b. Make sure all connections are correct and secure.
c. Make sure the software is conÞgured properly. See
ÒConÞguring the Voice Call OptionÓ on page 4-13.
d. Reboot both the system and the modem.
6. Exit from the call so you can run diagnostic tests.
7. Run self tests on the audio components by choosing Test
Audio Subsystems from the Hardware Module Self-Tests
screen. These tests help you isolate the problem by
testing the audio processor board.
8. Run the Local Channel Loopback test from the Loopback
Tests menu at both the near end and far end to determine
if the system components are operating correctly.
