The older format, D4, provides good signal quality but has no
diagnostic capabilities. The ESF format provides enhanced
performance monitoring and diagnostic capabilities as well as
improved signal quality.
Setting the Direct T1 Line Build-Out

transmits according to the length of the cable line. The cable line
length is measured from the network interface wall jack to the
