CONFIGURING NETWORKS
2-14
Venue¥2000 provides default local numbers based upon the
SPIDs you enter. If these defaults are correct, you can accept
them by pressing
screen. If they are incorrect, you need to enter the correct
numbers. You must enter local numbers for ISDN Triple-BRI
networks to receive incoming calls.
Other dialects allow you to enter local numbers and do not
require SPIDs. You must enter the correct local numbers in the
Set Local Numbers entry screen; the system does not provide
any defaults.
For example, you may have a fax machine and your Venue¥2000
system on the same ISDN line. The network uses these numbers to
determine which piece of equipment should receive an incoming
call. Your network provider gives you the SPIDs and local numbers.
For sites using the NI1 dialect, you can enter one or two
SPIDs. Sites using DMS100 always require two SPIDs.
The kind of identiÞers you use depends on what type of
equipment you are using and the country in which you are
operating.
Contact your network provider if you have any questions
about SPIDs or local numbers.
