Venue•2000 has a variety of tools available to help you determine
the state of the system and diagnose any problems that may occur
with the system. These tools let you test both individual
components and their ability to operate together.
Follow these steps when attempting to resolve problems with your
Venue •2000 system:
1. Check the tables listed in Chapter 8, "Resolving Problems."
These tables list some of the most common problems along with
possible causes and solutions.
2. Run the loopback tests.
These tests are used to isolate problems in the transmission of
data and are described in this chapter.
3. Run the self-tests to test the hardware.
You can either test all of the hardware components of
Venue¥2000 or test speciÞc hardware components. These tests
are described in this chapter.
4. Copy the results of the tests to a diskette and send that diskette to
a PictureTel service provider to diagnose the problem.
5. Set up remote access to Venue
this lets a PictureTel service provider remotely access your
system and run tests.
This chapter discusses how to use the test tools to isolate problems.
