Setting the Camera White Balance
If your camera has this capability, you can set the camera white
balance to adjust a camera to compensate for variations in room
lighting. In most cases, you should leave the setting at automatic.
The following table describes the white balance settings.
Setting
Automatic
Sets the camera white balance to adjust
automatically to changes in the current lighting
conditions. Use this default setting most of the
time.
One-Touch
Enables the camera to adjust the white balance to
the current lighting conditions. Use this setting
only with extreme light, such as when you want
the camera to render the precise color of a product
under unusual lighting conditions. The camera
does not retain this setting when you power down
the system, but returns to the
balance setting.
Indoor
Presets the camera white balance compensation
that is appropriate for typical incandescent
lighting conditions (or 3200û Kelvin lighting color
temperature). Choose this setting when you want
the camera to render a color that shifts toward
blue.
Outdoor
Presets the camera white balance compensation
that is appropriate for outdoor lighting conditions
(or 5800û Kelvin lighting color temperature).
Choose this setting when you want the camera to
render a color that shifts toward red.
