G.711 is an audio transmission format that is used for the initial
audio negotiation in a video call. It is the minimum standard used
when sites in a videoconference must negotiate transmission
Description
Controls the use of Integrated
Dynamic Echo Cancellation
(IDEC
), which is self-calibrating
echo cancellation. You should
disable this feature in situations
where there is no echo. If your only
audio source is something other
than a microphone, you should
disable IDEC processing. For
example, you may have a VCR
connected to your system and no
microphone.
If you are using a microphone as
one of your audio sources, leave
IDEC processing enabled.
Lets the system Þlter out certain
background noises from your
videoconference, such as the noise
from air conditioners or ventilation
systems.
Lets the system keep the input
speech signals from the near-end
microphone at a constant level. For
example, when a speaker at the near
end backs away from a microphone,
the far end detects no difference in
volume.
