Using Data Ports

Venue•2000 has two data ports on the back of the electronics module
that let you connect a modem or other serial device (such as a PC).
This chapter discusses what these data ports are used for and how
to conÞgure them.
Data ports are used for sending transparent data, sending T.120
data, or connecting with other remote devices. Data that is passed
through a videoconferencing system link from one computing
device (for example, a PC) to another computing device (for
example, a printer) is referred to as transparent data. The
videoconferencing system does nothing to this data other than pass
it along to the far-end device.
When the Venue¥2000 is exchanging transparent data with other
systems, be aware of the following conditions:
Venue•2000 Data Port A corresponds to C-3000, System 4000ª,
System 4000EX, or Concorde•4500ª Control Port B.
Venue•2000 Data Port B corresponds to C-3000, System 4000,
System 4000EX, or Concorde•4500 Data Port A.
Venue•2000 Data Port A corresponds to System 1000ª Serial
Port A.
When operating in H.224 mode, Venue•2000 Data Port A is
