Throttle Valve Service

Removal
Disconnect the battery cables at the battery.
Remove the engine top, front and rear covers.
Remove the port and starboard side panels.
Remove the port and starboard frames. Then
remove the front frame. Refer to Engine Cover
and Frame Service on p. 55.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to remove the
three screws retaining the center frame to the
frame mounts.
Remove the 99.5 mm Oetiker clamp retaining the
throttle valve to the plenum.
1. 99.5 mm Oetiker clamp
Remove the throttle valve from the plenum.
Remove the throttle valve harness from its
retainer and disconnect the electrical connector.
Installation
Connect the electrical connector to the throttle
valve. Then install the throttle valve harness into
its retainer.
Install the throttle valve on to the plenum. Secure
the throttle valve to the plenum with a new
99.5 mm Oetiker clamp.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to install the cen-
ter frame screws.
IMPORTANT:
Turn self-tapping screws counter
clockwise to start the threads and clockwise to
tighten. Failure to follow this procedure can dam-
age the threads of the center frame mounts.

Install the front frame. Then install the port and
starboard frames.
Install the engine front, top cover and rear covers.
Install the port and starboard side panels. Refer to
Engine Cover and Frame Service on p. 55.
Connect the battery cables at the battery.

Intake Manifold Service

Removal
Disconnect the battery cables at the battery.
Remove the engine top, front and rear covers.
Remove the port and starboard side panels.
Remove the port and starboard frames.
Disconnect all cables and hoses at the engine.
Then remove the front frame. Refer to Engine
Cover and Frame Service on p. 55.
Remove the four retaining screws from the rigging
housing and remove the rigging housing.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to remove the
three screws retaining the center frame to the
frame mounts.
Remove the throttle valve from the plenum, see
Throttle Valve Service on p. 180.
