Fuel Component Servicing
Install the following hoses with new Oetiker
clamps:
•
inlet hose from inline fuel filter
•
outlet hose from fuel lift pump
•
inlet hose from water separating fuel filter

2. Outlet hose from fuel lift pump
3. Inlet hose from water separating fuel filter
Install the vapor separator, fuel filter bracket and
hoses on the engine:
•
Install the two lower vapor separator mounting
screws and washers. Tighten the screws to a
torque of 84 to 106 in. lbs. (10 to 12 N·m).
•
Install the two fuel filter bracket mounting
screws and washers. Tighten the screws to a
torque of 84 to 106 in. lbs. (10 to 12 N·m).

Connect the fuel rails to the vapor separator.
Refer to Quick Connector Locking Fittings on
p. 172.
Install the following hoses with new Oetiker
clamps:
•
upper & lower water cooling hoses
•
vapor separator vent outlet hose

fuel inlet hose at the rigging center

2. Vapor separator vent outlet hose
Connect the electrical connector to the vapor sep-
arator.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to install the cen-
ter frame screws.
IMPORTANT:
Turn self-tapping screws counter
clockwise to start the threads and clockwise to
tighten. Failure to follow this procedure can dam-
age the threads of the center frame mounts.
Connect battery cables at the battery.
Prime the fuel system and check for fuel leaks.
Repair all leaks.
Supply water to the engine. Start and run the out-
board and check for fuel leaks. Repair all leaks
before returning the outboard to service.
Install starboard frame. Install the engine top, front
and rear covers. Install the starboard side panel.

p. 55.

Quick Connector Locking Fittings
The fuel rails are equipped with quick connector
locking fittings. Lift the two tabs of the locking
