sure regulator. The pressure regulator maintains
approximately 24 to 34 psi (165 to 234 kPa) of fuel
pressure to the fuel injectors in the high pressure
side of the fuel system.
Fuel Circulation Pump
The fuel circulation pump is an electric high pres-
sure fuel pump.
Fuel Supply
The pump is mounted inside the vapor separator
and draws fuel from the fuel chamber. It pumps
pressurized fuel through a fuel supply rail con-
nected to the fuel injectors.
Electrical Circuit
The circulation pump is controlled by the EMM
and operates on the 12 V circuit. The circulation
pump is activated for 10 seconds when the EMM
powers up. The fuel circulation pump runs contin-
uously during engine operation.

1. Fuel circulation pump
The EMM monitors the fuel circulation pump elec-
trical circuit.
If the circulation pump is disconnected (open
circuit), the EMM:
Stores fault code 91
Engine Monitor CHECK ENGINE display: ON
If the circuit current is beyond the specified
range (short circuit), the EMM:
Stores fault code 92
Engine Monitor CHECK ENGINE display: ON
Fuel Vapor Venting
The fuel vapor vent solenoid regulates fuel level in
the reservoir.
1
1. Vapor vent solenoid
The EMM controls fuel vapor vent solenoid opera-
tion based on inputs from the fuel level micro
switches.
Electrical Circuit
The EMM monitors the fuel vapor vent solenoid
electrical circuit.
If the vent solenoid is disconnected (open cir-
cuit), the EMM:
Stores fault code 159
Engine Monitor CHECK ENGINE display: ON
If the circuit current is beyond the specified
range (short circuit), the EMM:
Stores fault code 160
Engine Monitor CHECK ENGINE display: ON
