Test Procedures

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
SYMPTOM
Display screen shows jumbled or
undecipherable characters
Handset is "locked-up" – buttons do not
respond
TEST PROCEDURES
The following test procedures enable the technician to test the IQDM and IQDM-P Series 2 handsets and the
components of the IQ Plus vehicle that are related to the proper operation of the handset. This diagnostics section
does not contain detailed information for troubleshooting the vehicle. Refer to See Section 22 – Electrical System and
Testing: Electric Vehicles. for detailed vehicle troubleshooting and service procedures.
WARNING
• If wires are removed or replaced, make sure wiring and wire harness is properly routed and secured.
Failure to properly route and secure wiring could result in vehicle malfunction, property damage,
personal injury, or death.

Onboard computer malfunction
Loose vehicle wire harness connections
Speed controller malfunction
Handset has failed

Loose connection at IQDM jack
Intermittent handset cord failure
Intermittent handset cord adaptor failure
Loose vehicle wire harness connections
Handset malfunction
Vehicle batteries – loose terminals or corrosion

Vehicle batteries – batteries not fully charged
Speed controller malfunction

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace handset

Disconnect the IQDM cord from the vehicle.
Wait a few seconds and reconnect the handset
to the vehicle
