GENERAL INFORMATION

This section contains the information required to correctly troubleshoot the gasoline vehicle. A troubleshooting guide
is provided for general troubleshooting. For issues pertaining solely to the electrical system, proceed to Electrical
System on page 11-6.
In addition to troubleshooting, this section contains general information on the electrical system and the electrical
circuits of the system.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

The following troubleshooting guide will be helpful in identifying operating difficulties should they occur. The guide
includes the symptom, probable cause(s) and suggested checks. The procedures used in making these checks can be
found in the referenced sections of this maintenance and service manual.

Spark plug is partially fouled or in poor
condition
Spark plug wire is damaged or loose
Loose wire connection at ignition coil or RPM
limiter
Intermittent ignition coil failure
Low cylinder compression
Water or dirt in the fuel system and/or
carburetor; dirty or clogged fuel filter
Carburetor improperly adjusted
Starter/generator belt is slipping
