7. Remove crankcase oil drain plug and filler tube. Tip the engine slightly to allow all of the oil to drain from the
crankcase. Dispose of engine oil properly.

CRANKCASE COVER REMOVAL

1. Remove yellow jumper wire (11) from cord connector (12) (Figure 15-2, Page 15-4).
2. Remove nuts and clamps at two-ended bolts (1 and 2) (Figure 15-3, Page 15-4).
3. Remove eight bolts (3) and remove the crankcase cover (4). See following NOTE.
NOTE: If the crankcase cover sticks, tap lightly with a plastic mallet on alternate sides near the dowel pins (5) (Figure
15-3, Page 15-4).
4. Remove the crankcase cover gasket completely. It may stick to the flanged surface of the crankcase.
