Appendix F: Trunk Alarms

Describes trunk alarms and recommends how to respond to trunk alarms.

Trunk Alarm Definitions

The system tracks numerous trunk alarm conditions. Alarm conditions indicate trouble along the
transmission path, either at the system end or the far network end. These problems occur on a
per-trunk basis.
Depending on the severity of the condition, the system does one or more of the following:
Updates the Alarm report
l
Records the event in the Log file
l
Updates the Trunk Status screen
l
Updates the Network Statistics file
l
Displays a message across the top of the operator screen
l
Lights an LED on the alarm panel
l

classified as Service Affecting (SA) or NonService Affecting (NSA), depending upon their
impact on conferencing service
