Table 29: Flex-DAPI Fields and Channel Configurations
Field / Auxiliary Function
Operators / Operator voice channels — For operator
audio paths, the number of operator audio paths lines.
See
Operator Audio Paths
on configuring operator audio paths over non-FDAPI
channels.
Rec/Play / Record/playback channels — The number
of lines assigned to conference recording and
playback over analog channels.
Digital Record lines do not use an FDAPI channel.
Off-bridge Recording devices also do not use an
FDAPI channel. They use revenue channels.
Link / Link channels — The number of lines for linking
this system with another system to accommodate
larger conferences.
See
About Configuring Link Channels
more information.
Music / Music channels — The number of lines for
playing music in conferences, Enter Queue, and Hold
conferences, which serve as "waiting rooms" for
conferees. If analog music is enabled for the M-1
music channel, only three channels (M-2, M-3, M-4)
are available for music from digital sources.
Music channels have system resources assigned to
their incoming audio paths but not to their outgoing
audio paths. As a result, random noise is transmitted
through the outgoing audio path. To ensure that
conference participants do not hear this random noise,
make sure outgoing signals are blocked on devices
connected to Music channels.
Analog Music / Analog Music—
field to ON if you want to configure the system to
support an analog music source from a device
connected to the front-panel RCA jack.
