Remote Login and File Transfer

The system supports rlogin and telnet to access guest commands, and rcp and ftp to copy files
between hosts. To ensure security, use rlogin and rcp. These commands require that the name
and IP address of each host be registered in both the remote and local host.
!
CAUTION:
Be careful when downloading files to the local host. Invalid configuration files
CAUTION:
(.dat files) can cause improper system operation. Always make sure that the two
systems have the same software release before exchanging configuration files
between them. The system's software release number appears above the
System Administrator Main menu and several other screens. It is an 8-character
part number with a 2-digit revision number, for example: P/N: S0700103
Revision: 01

Registering Hosts to Use rlogin and rcp

To use rlogin and rcp, each remote host's /etc/hosts file must contain information for the
system, and the system's /etc/hosts file and /etc/rhosts files must contain information for each
remote host.
