CAUTION:
To avoid losing system annunciator ports and causing other disruptive effects to

the system, do not hot swap a DSP card if it is the only DSP card installed in the
system chassis.

Extracting a DSP Card

Follow this procedure to extract a DSP card:
1. Loosen the screws on the top and bottom latches. (The screws are fixed to the latch
assemblies; do not attempt to remove.)
2. Flip the card's top latch half-way up and the bottom latch half-way down.
3. The system detects that the bottom latch is partially unlatched, and the HOT SWAP LED
(see

board. When the LED lights, you can proceed to Step 3.
4. Flip the latches on the card all the way to disengage the card from the backplane, and pull
the card straight back out of the system chassis.
Tip:
You should not feel any resistance when pulling the card from the chassis.

Inserting a DSP Card

Follow this procedure to insert a DSP card:
1. Carefully insert the card into the slots at the top and bottom of the empty bay, and gently
push it straight all the way into the chassis.

Important:
If you feel any resistance while pushing the card in, STOP immediately, pull the

card out, and try repositioning the card in the slots. If you need assistance,
contact Customer Support.
2. Flip the card's top latch down and the bottom latch up simultaneously to connect the card to
the system backplane.
The HOT SWAP LED lights and remains lit until the system finishes configuring the card.
3. Tighten the screws on the latch assemblies.
