3. Make sure the file /etc/hosts lists the IP address and system name of any computer on
which your client program will run. Add the remote host by entering the appropriate
parameters. For more information on adding hosts, see
File
on page 163.
4. Write an application program to retrieve these records.
5. Make a socket connection to the same service number identified as autocdr in the system
/etc/services file. While the bridge is servicing one client, it will not accept autocdr
connections from any others.
6. Send one of the three command messages (see
7. Read all data on the socket. These data will be a series of zero or more records of the
type(s) requested, CDRs and/or CODRs, each prefaced with the header (see
Format
on page 295).
Optionally, the client program may send a Ping message to the server to verify that the
connection is still open. This is not necessary to maintain the connection. The bridge returns
the Ping message, with an additional line feed character (ASCII decimal 10).
