LAN users have read-only access to voice directories. However, the mlcp utility provides a
mechanism for copying voice files from one system to another. After using rcp or ftp to copy files
to designated download directories, you can run mlcp, which automatically performs data
checks and moves the files to the appropriate voice directories.

About mlcp

A specialized utility called mlcp copies voice files from one audioconferencing system to
another. This lets you maintain global voice and message files at multi-system sites. Applicable
voice files are annunciator messages and digital record/playback files.
Tip:
Digital record/playback files exist only on systems using the Digital Record/
Tip:
Playback option.
The mlcp utility maintains established file sizes and prevents fragmentation of files, critical for
preserving data integrity of lengthy digitally recorded conferences. This utility automatically
copies files from predesignated download directories to voice directories using a mechanism
that prevents file fragmentation.
To assure data integrity, mlcp:
Limits file size to the maximum allowable annunciator file size (approximately 1 minute) for
l
files found in the /usr/dcb/flexannun directory.
Converts lowercase characters to uppercase and restricts their size to the maximum
l
allowable digital record/playback file size (approximately 12 hours) for files found in the
/usr/dcb/confrp directory.
