System Maintenance Options
Configuring T3
You can not configure T3 transports using the Maintenance and Administration screens; rather
you use a manual process. During this process you create and edit a text file that contains the
configurations for the T3 cards. You load this text file in the system with a command line utility
that creates the necessary dat file. A reboot is required to effect any configuration changes
made during this process.
Overview
This section provides an overview of the entire T3 configuration process. Subsequent sections
detail the files and utilities used during the process.
These steps to configure T3:
1. Run the
T3 Configuration Utility
t3config -default
This command creates a text file, t3config.txt.default in /usr/dcb/bin.
2. Edit t3config.txt.default file to set the parameters for your installation. Refer to
Configuration Text File
3. Rename the edited t3config.txt.default to t3config.txt and move it to /usr/dcb/dbase/admin.
4. Run the T3 configuration utility on t3config.txt using this command:
t3config /usr/dcb/dbase/admin/t3config.txt
5. Restart the system using the System Maintenance > Re-initialize option.
T3 Configuration Utility
The T3 configuration utility, t3config, is stored in /usr/dcb/bin/.
Run this utility from the system prompt.
The command format is:
t3config [-get|-default] <filename>
Where:
Entering the command with the <filename> (t3config.txt) and without the get or default
option—generates a t3config.dat file in the same directory as the t3config.txt file. This
command overwrites any existing file with new settings from the t3config.txt.
