Powering Down

Although most maintenance tasks can be accomplished with the system power on, plan to
reboot the system during scheduled routine maintenance. The reboot requirement is based on a
combination of the hardware configuration and memory combined with the call load volume,
number of log files, log file size and volume. Preferably schedule maintenance to occur during
low-usage or non-peak hours.
5. Follow this procedure to Shut Down the System. This procedure will take approximately 15
to 20 minutes.
6. Select System Shutdown from the System Maintenance Main Menu.
7. Type YES. The system displays a message that it is shutting down.
8. Leave the system alone for 5 minutes.
9. Power Down, following the guidelines in
Button on page 331.
10. Leave the system alone for 5 minutes.
11. Power Up. The system will take 5-8 minutes to become live again.
12. Check for alarms and check logs for any problems
