If instead the first caller enters an invalid passcode, the passcode database server withholds
validation and notifies the system. The number of times the system repeats the passcode
prompt to the caller is dependent on the value specified for the Scan Attempts parameter for the
Schedule. See
Scan Attempts and other configuration parameters.
Note:
Although the Schedule can remain activated and enabled on the system, the
Note:
Conference Scheduler, which is accessed from the Bridge Talk application, is
disabled when EPV is enabled on the system. All conference scheduling for an
EPV-enabled system is supported by the external reservation server.
If a reservation includes a PIN code, the database server confirms the request in the same
manner as it validates the conference passcode. If a caller enters an invalid PIN code, the
system repeats the PIN code prompt based on the Scan Attempts parameter configured for the
Schedule.
XML
Data Source Configuration
This section describes the protocol for EPV servers capable of parsing the arguments from the
request URI, validating the passcode, and returning the result in XML form.
An EPV implementation relies on configuration information stored in the chdbased.reg file
installed in the /usr/dcb/dbase/admin directory. The file contains a section, [xmldatasource]
which defines the configuration settings for EPV.
At installation time, the chdbased.reg file contains the following default settings:
[xmldatasource]
version=1.0
bridgeid=spectel700
address=localhost
URI=/epvtest
pingURI=/epvtest/ping.htm
cmdURI=/epvtest/epvcmd.html
port=80
timeout=10
connections=1
test=false
