If the system baud rate has not been established at system startup, press
establish the baud rate.

When the system is RESET, using either the Power Up procedure or CPU reset switch, the LEDs on
the PCAs should respond as described in Powering Up in this section.
If the diagnostics are not successful, the VP 300 restarts the testing routine. If a problem is found, the
terminal displays a specific error type. Refer to the MAINTENANCE chapter of this manual to
interpret the error code and select the maintenance action required.
Wait for the operating system to load and the diagnostic selftesting to finish. If the tests complete
successfully, the VP 300 displays INITIALIZING PORTS . . . PORT INITIALIZATION
DONE. Proceed to the software installation.
