the party answers or until the PBX forwards the call to the VP 300 for
secondary answering.
Forwarded External
Upon forwarding an external call to the VP 300, the Mitel SX-200
Calls
Digital provides the VP 300 with a display containing the following
information:
FROM YYY
YYY is the number of the extension that the call was forwarded from.
Upon receiving this display, the MIC uses the Superset 4's display line
status feature to identify the source of the call. The PBX then provides a
display containing the following information:
TXXX CALLING
XXX is the three-digit trunk number that the VP 300 uses to identify
trunks.
Upon receiving the forwarded call, the VP 300 prompts the caller with the
status of the extension or with the extension's greeting, if it is ON,
followed by, "Please leave a private message at the tone, dial another
number, or dial zero for (personal) assistance..."
If the caller dials
defined in the INFORMATION Table for the called extension's mailbox
or for the incoming call's trunk group.
If a personal assistant is configured for the called extension's mailbox, the
VP 300 performs a screened transfer to the personal assistance position. If
that position does not answer or is busy, the VP 300 prompts "Personal
assistance is unavailable. Please leave a private message at the tone for
(name) or dial zero for the operator..."
It may be desired to direct some types of calls, for example, certain trunk
calls and/or calls to selected extensions, immediately to personal
assistance instead of offering messaging or calling options. For this
application, the VP 300 may be configured to transfer unanswered calls
automatically to a personal assistance extension. As a further option, the
VP 300 may be configured to give the caller the choice of overriding the
automatic transfer and leaving a message. Refer to the Feature
Description manual — CUSTOMIZATION, Personal Assistance.
If the called extension does not contain the extension number in the name
field, the call is handled as a direct external call from the specified trunk.
Direct Internal Calls A person can call the VP 300 directly either to enter a mailbox, send a
Quick Message, or make a network call. For these direct internal calls, the
Mitel SX-200 Digital sends a display containing the following
information:
