1. Allocate two analog extensions (2500-type single line) in the PBX. The extension numbers
of these extensions must be consistent with the format of the mailbox numbers in the VP
300 USER Table. For example, the first digit and number of digits in the extensions must
correspond to the mailbox numbering scheme.
2. Configure the analog extensions so that they have the following COS options enabled in
the PBX:
206 — Call Forwarding – Busy
207 — Call Forwarding – Don't Answer
209 — Call Forwarding – Follow Me
Enable the following COS option only if using MWI:
232 — Message Waiting Setup – Lamp
3. Note the PBX feature access codes for Call Forwarding – Busy/Don't Answer and Call
Forwarding – Follow Me, as these codes will be needed during the testing procedure. Refer
to CDE form 02, FEATURE ACCESS CODES, if necessary.
4. Allocate one trunk line into the PBX that can be individually called. This will be used to
test external calls into the VP 300. Configure this trunk to ring directly into the first port of
the MIC port hunt group. During the testing, the trunk is reconfigured to ring directly into
one of the analog test extensions.

Mitel SX-200 Digital Testing

Perform the tests in this section before the actual installation of the MIC board. For these tests,
disconnect all cables connecting the VP 300 ports to the Mitel SX-200 Digital.
This section refers to the parts of the Superset 4 telephone according to the following diagram,
Figure 10.1-1. Please refer to this diagram for the locations of parts of the Superset 4.
After configuring the test extensions and preparing the Mitel SX-200 Digital for testing, begin
the testing procedure.
1. PRELIMINARY SUPERSET EXTENSION TEST
This test verifies that dial tone is present on each of the Superset extensions used for
the MIC links.
A. Connect a Superset 4 phone to the PBX extension used for the first MIC port.
B. Wait for the PBX to initialize the Superset 4. This may take as long as 30 seconds.
Once the set is initialized, the display should show the time and date. If the display
does not show the time and date within 30 seconds of connecting the phone, correct the
problem before continuing. If the display contains information other than the time and
date, lifting the Superset handset off-hook and replacing it may correct the problem.
