Access the Trunk Service Assignment form to configure trunk service for the VP 300. Modify
the following entries as required:
Non-Dial-In Trunks Answer Points — Set the answer points for Day, Night 1, and Night 2
service to the MIC port hunt group access code according to when the trunk is to be answered
by the VP 300.
Dial-In Trunks Digit Modification — Program these entries so that dial-in trunks to be
answered by the VP 300 terminate to the MIC hunt group.
Trunk Label — If the application requires the VP 300 to identify different groups of incoming
trunks uniquely, program this entry with a name that includes the trunk service number
according to the Naming Conventions at the beginning of this section. Note the trunk service
numbers so that they can be entered in the VP 300 TRUNK GROUP Table.

Call Rerouting

All extensions that are to use the VP 300 for call coverage must be assigned a Call Rerouting
table entry that includes the VP 300 as an answer point. This may require addition of new Call
Rerouting table entries as well as modification of existing Call Rerouting table entries.
The Call Rerouting Timer (an SX-2000 System Option) should be set longer
than the longest value used for the Call Forward No Answer Timer (an
SX-2000 COS option), but shorter than the sum of any two values for the Call
Forward No Answer timer. Refer to the Operation of Mitel SX-2000 Adaptive
Integration section, Call Rerouting.
Proceed with the Call Rerouting configuration using the following procedure.
1. List all Call Rerouting First Alternative Assignments and Call Rerouting Second
Alternative Assignments and note which ones need to be changed so that the VP 300
provides secondary answering.
2. Enter the pilot number of the VP 300 hunt group as a First Alternative Answer point or
Second Alternative Answer point for all Rerouting Alternatives that need to be changed.
3. Add and define any new Rerouting Table entries that are needed for special applications
involving the VP 300.
4. Access the Call Rerouting Assignment form and check that all the VP 300 mailbox owners
needing call coverage are assigned appropriate Call Rerouting Alternatives.
5. Set up Call Rerouting Alternatives for the VP 300 ports themselves. These Alternatives
should specify alternative answer points to be used when the VP 300 cannot answer calls,
for example, when all the VP 300 ports are busy, or during a VP 300 system reload.
6. Access the Call Rerouting Assignment form and assign these alternatives to the extensions
used for the VP 300 hunt group.
