I
Trunk Identification
An incoming trunk is identified only by individual trunk number, not by trunk group. This
requires that each trunk to be identified by the VP 300 have its own entry in the VP 300's
TRUNK GROUP Table.
I
Default Secondary Answering
Call coverage is set up at each phone only. This requires that each phone user set up their
extension to forward to the VP 300 so that the VP 300 can provide secondary answering.
If mailbox holders forward their phones to destinations other than the VP 300, CPI may not
work properly.
Phones using MWI should set forwarding to the VP 300 only on ring-no-answer.
Refer to PBX Functional Limitations that affect MWI, in this section.
I
Applications
Here are application recommendations to help avoid some of the limitations previously
described.
I
Forwarding
Example
The customer has an integrated Mitel system where the VP 300 answers their incoming
lines. The VP 300 releases calls to ringing, so the individual extensions must be forwarded
to the VP 300. The customer has Superset 4 phones and 2500-type phones with message
waiting lamps, and the customer wants to have the VP 300 perform message waiting
indication.
Recommendation
Since the VP 300 cannot control a phone's message waiting indicator when that phone
forwards on busy or all-forward, we recommend that phones using MWI be forwarded to
the VP 300 only on ring-no-answer. DID calls require coverage on busy, therefore we do
not recommend using MWI for extensions that receive DID calls. Instead, use the VP 300
ringing notification for these extensions, and set them to forward on ring-no-answer and
busy.
Since extensions using MWI are forwarded on ring-no-answer, they have call coverage for
internal and external calls on ring-no-answer. Although they are not forwarded on busy,
they have coverage for external calls on busy since the VP 300 recognizes the busy
condition and reconnects to the caller with the status "is on the phone" or "doesn't
answer..." These extensions do not have internal call coverage when they are busy, but this
generally is not a problem since internal callers usually call back instead of leaving a
message.
MITEL SX-100/SX-200 ANALOG ADAPTIVE INTEGRATION
Analog does not have a hunt group overflow or permit hunt group
queuing for internal calls.
