12. FORWARDED INTERNAL CALL FROM AN EXTENSION THAT DOES NOT

A message is not delivered to a mailbox unless it is at least 4.5 seconds in
length. The mailbox for phone B must be entered in the VP 300 USER Table or
the VP 300 does not offer to take a message
F. The VP 300 should now initiate a message waiting notification call to phone B. Does
the VP 300 call the extension associated with phone B?
NO
Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
G. From phone B, call the VP 300 and enter the mailbox number of mailbox B. The VP
300 should respond with "EXT-B has one message. Ready..."
H. Listen to the test message. Does the message sound clear?
NO
Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
Press 3 to erase the message. Press 9 to exit the mailbox. Does the VP 300 respond

with "One message will be erased..."? Press 9 to exit the mailbox. Does the VP 300
respond with "Good-bye..."?
NO

Hang up phone B.
HAVE THE EXTENSION NUMBER IN THE NAME FIELD
This test verifies that the VP 300 correctly processes a call to an extension number in
the name field.
A. With the Superset 4 on-hook, press the PROGRAM softkey, followed by the NAME
softkey. The alphanumeric display should give this prompt:
DIAL IN NAME
B. Program the phone's name to be A by pressing 1, the NEXT softkey, and then the
SAVE softkey.
C. Now press the PROGRAM softkey again followed by the CALL FWD softkey.
D. Use the softkey prompts and alphanumeric display to set up ALWAYS FORWARD
call forwarding to the VP 300.
E. From phone A, call phone B. Does the VP 300 answer with the greeting for Trunk
Group 0?
NO
Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.
F. Dial 9 9 to exit from the VP 300. Hang up phone A. Turn OFF call forwarding for the
Superset 4 using the select features button. Cancel the programmed name by pressing
the PROGRAM softkey followed by the NAME softkey, then pressing the CANCEL
softkey.
