VP 300 CONFIGURATION
This section describes the changes that must be made to the VP 300 configuration for Called Party
Identification. These changes are made by using the UPDATE program.
I

External Call Configuration

The Mitel PBX provides the VP 300 with the trunk number of an external call. The TRUNK
GROUP Table enables the VP 300 to process the call according to the trunk on which the call
came in instead of the port on which the VP 300 answered the call. Integrated ports, therefore,
do not need to be split. Examples of how trunk identification can be applied include:
Refer to the Configuration manual — TRUNK GROUP Table. The VP 300 identifies direct
external calls by individual trunk number or, if a Trunk Service Label is assigned to the trunk,
by trunk service number. Forwarded external calls are always identified by individual trunk
number, regardless of the Trunk Service Label. The VP 300 TRUNK GROUP Table may
therefore require entries for individual trunk numbers, trunk service numbers, or both,
depending upon the call processing application. Entries in the TRUNK GROUP Table must not
include leading zeroes because the VP 300 ignores leading zeros of trunk numbers and trunk
service numbers.
I

Internal Call Configuration

Called Party Identification provides several mailbox convenience features for direct internal
callers, as described in the Operation of Mitel SX-2000 Adaptive Integration section, CPI Call
Processing. Every VP 300 mailbox may use all of these features except the personal greeting
access feature, which is assigned by COS through INFORMATION Table Index 25. Index 25
must be defined as YES to permit selected people too access their personal greetings without
entering their mailbox. This access is possible only when a person is calling the VP 300
directly from the extension associated with their mailbox.
