7.18 REPLACING JUMP HOLE SENSOR

Sensors may malfunction due to dirt buildup, but their function may be restored upon cleaning. Replace
sensors only when you are sure they have failed electrically.
Before proceeding, switch off the printer and remove the main cover, left housing cover and the top left

housing cover to gain access to the internal (electrical and mechanism) hardware. Refer to Section 7.1
Removal of Housing cover for details.
Unscrew five screws to detach the Main (CONT) PCB bracket from the printer frame. Refer to Section
2.

Detach the Operator Panel assembly based on step 2 and step 3 of Section 7.15 Replacing Operator

Panel PCB .
Press the purple Lid Latch Lever to release the Lid Latch .

To replace Jump hole sensor (upper) board
On the side of the Lid Latch assembly (4), unscrew two screws (1) to remove the Plate (F/R position)

(2) that holds the Lid Latch . Remove the plastic roller (3) attached to the shaft and set side.
On the mechanism side of the printer, disconnect the wiring harnesses attached to the Lid Latch assem-

bly (4). Then, slide out the Lid Latch assembly (4) from the Shaft (Lid Latch) on the other side.
Remove four screws (5) on both sides of the Lid Latch assembly (4) and remove the Feed Cover ASSY

(6).
On the Feed Cover (Bottom) (7), remove the Tight screw (8) securing the Upper Jump hole sensor

board (9).
Replace the defective Upper Jump hole sensor board (9) and reverse the above procedures for reas-

sembly.
Note: Insert the wiring harnesses firmly and arrange the wiring harnesses to ensure that they are not
pinched during installation.
