Section 6: Checks and Adjustment Procedures

6.11 SENSOR CHECKS

6.11.1 To check Ribbon End
Note: There is no need to perform step 2 to step 4 if the printer is still in the default Thermal Trans-
fer mode.
Press the ONLINE button in online mode state to go offline.

Press the FUNCTION button to enter the Mode Selection screen. Use the

the FEED button several times to display the PRINT METHOD screen.
Select TRANSFER (Thermal transfer) with the

the FEED button to save changes.
After that, press the FEED button several times to return the icon display.

Make sure the ribbon end error occurs when you press the FEED button

while no ribbon is loaded.
If no error indicate for above specified operations, check the connector

connection. If there is nothing wrong with the connection, the sensor needs
to be replaced.

6.11.2 To check Head Open sensor and Lid Latch Sensor
Ensure the printer is in ONLINE mode.

Latch and unlatch the print head assembly to make sure to have a head open error is generated.

Then press the purple Lid Latch lever to open and close the Lid Latch. Make sure a lid latch open error

occurs.
If the sensor is faulty, refer to Section 7.20 Replacing Head Open Sensor or Section 7.22 Replacing

Lid Latch Sensor of this manual accordingly for replacement instructions.
