6.9 ADJUSTING AND CHECKING SENSORS (Cont'd)
Disengage the Head lock Lever and the Lid Latch to allow media loading. Physically position the media,

with the label gap or tag hole rests over the Gap/ Center hole sensor.
Note:
To stabilize the sensor level, make sure the print head assembly is locked and the media is threaded
correctly.
Avoid I-Mark when positioning the label gap on sensor.
Press the
arrow buttons to adjust the sensor level to 0.5V or below and press the FEED button.

Re-position the media, with the label or the tag is oriented over the sensor directly.

Note:

Confirm the new sensor level (Label/tag portion) to see if the difference between high level (Label/tag

portion) and low level (label gap or liner / tag hole portion) is 1.0V or more.
Press the

arrow buttons to switch to SLICE LEVEL adjustment screen. Press the

to adjust the slice level. Setting the slice level to 0.0V enables automatic setting. The slice level can be set
within the range of 0.0V to 3.2V . Save changes by pressing the FEED button.
To calibrate the Gap/ Center hole sensor level with the potentiometer
NOTE: Measure the sensor level directly in the Maintenance mode only. This is because the sensor
protection (measurement to prolong operating life) is enabled in the ONLINE mode.
These checking activities require the use of a multimeter and may be performed with or without the assistance
of the SATO Test Module .
