2. Follow the standard procedures for opening the termi-
nal explained in Preparing the terminal for mainte-
nance on page 2-3 and Opening and closing the
terminal on page 2-6, including:
Upload CDRs
Uninstall the
terminal
connected ESD strap to an ESD connection point
inside the terminal
disconnected the terminal block from the rear ter-
minal PCP to disconnect the power
Electrostatic
discharge
(ESD)

• Upload the CDRs to the Mil-
lennium Manager before you
start this procedure.
• If this is an upgrade, remem-
ber to uninstall the terminal
before you start mainte-
nance
• If you uninstall the terminal,
run the INSTALL routine
when you are finished the
upgrade.
• Before working with the PCP
assembly, put on your ESD
wrist strap and connect it to
the ESD connection points
inside the terminal.
• Place any components you
remove from the terminal
into an anti-static bag.
Failure to follow these
precautions may damage
ESD-sensitive components.
• Disconnect the power before
disconnecting any cables in-
side the terminal.
• Do not reconnect the pow-
er until you are ready to
close the terminal.
