Vacuum Switch

The vacuum switch 1 is located in the induction hose

between the air filter and turbocharger.

If the air flow to the engine induction system is restricted,

by a blocked air filter element for example, the air pressure

inside the air filter housing is reduced.

When the air pressure inside the air filter housing is below

a pre-set value the air filter vacuum switch 1 contacts

close. The digital signal is transmitted to the MECU.
