The MECU responds as follows:
– Energises the load assist solenoid valve. The valve
enables loading of the engine by bringing the P2
section of the pump to full flow. This ensures that the
exhaust gas temperature is sufficient to enable
effective regeneration.
– De-energises the controls isolate solenoid valve. This
ensures that the machine cannot be operated while
the hydraulic pump output is influenced by the load
assist valve. The controls isolate padlock symbol is
shown on the display for 2s.
– The
time
remaining
regeneration is shown using an egg timer symbol on
the display.
Forced Regeneration
After a period of insufficient regeneration events the
engine ECU requests a forced regeneration and
automatically reduces the engine speed and torque (limp
mode). The red regeneration symbol and low power
symbol alternate on the display.

– The maximum pre-set time period of 13.5 machine
hours between complete regeneration cycles has
been exceeded.
– The DPD filter is over saturated with particle matter.
When the DPD filter is over saturated, the automatic and
manual regeneration modes cannot control the burning of
the particle matter, the excessive heat would cause the
DPD to be eroded. These modes are disabled until a
forced regeneration is completed.
Recovery of the machine can only be attempted using the
applicable Servicemaster tool.
