DPD filter regeneration turns the soot accumulation on the

filter to ash. The ash slowly accumulates on the filter and

eventually will have to be removed. A special compressed

air ash removal device must be used. Refer to the

applicable engine documentation. Refer to Section K.

Regeneration Switch

The regeneration switch C255 is located in the side

console. The switch is a momentary type.

When the engine is running the main relay C321 energises

and 24 V is connected to the engine ECU at C251 pin 62

via the regeneration switch. In this state the engine ECU

will initiate automatic regeneration.

When the engine is running and the switch is pressed for 3

to 6s the engine ECU responds as follows:

Normal operation (no

regeneration required)

regeneration cycle

Manual regeneration

Regeneration is suspended

5s of the green regeneration
