Checking the FOGS Structure
All excavators are designed so that an operator's
protective structure can be fitted. In certain applications
such as demolition, machines must be fitted with the
optional Falling Objects Guard Structure (FOGS). It is the
operator's responsibility to identify the risk of an
application.
!M
WARNING
You could be killed or seriously injured if you operate
a machine with a damaged or missing FOGS. If the
falling objects structure has been in an accident, do
not use the machine until the structure has been
renewed. Modifications and repairs that are not
approved by the manufacturer may be dangerous and
will invalidate the FOGS certification.
Check that all the FOGS mounting bolts are in place and
undamaged. Check the FOGS mounting bolts for correct
torque tightness.
