Check (Operation)
Check that the Swing brake releases as follows:

Start the engine and operate the Swing service.
If the Swing operation is slow, or does not operate,
the Swing brake or its control system may be
defective.

Stop the engine and remove the starter key.
Do not operate the machine if the Swing brake is
defective. For information about the Swing brake
refer to Section E, Swing Motor. For details about
the Swing brake control system refer to Section E,
Hydraulic Systems.
Check that the Swing brake comes ON as follows:

Get access to the 8 station solenoid valve.
Disconnect the electrical connector at the Swing
brake solenoid CT1. Refer to Section C, Hydraulic
Systems Control.

Start the engine and operate the Swing service for a
maximum period of three seconds. If the Swing
function does not operate, the Swing brake is
operating correctly. If the Swing function operates,
the Swing brake is defective.
Note: The DECU may display a fault code (C130C) when
the electrical connector at the Swing brake solenoid is
disconnected.

Stop the engine and remove the starter key. Re-
connect the electrical connector at the Swing brake
solenoid. If necessary clear the fault code log. Refer
to Section C, Fault Code System.
Do not operate the machine if the Swing brake is
defective. For details of the Swing brake refer to
Section E, Swing Motor.
