Servomotor Overheated

Cause
Ambient temperature is too
high.
Servomotor surface is dirty.
Overloaded.
Mechanical mounting is
incorrect.
Bearing is defective.
Machine causing vibrations.
Inspection
Measure servomotor ambient
temperature.
Visual check
Run under no load.
Check servomotor mounting
screws.
Check couplings not centered.
Check coupling balance.
Check noise and vibration near
bearing.
Check foreign object intru-
sion, damage or deformation of
movable parts of machine.

Remedy
Reduce ambient temperature to
40°C max.
Clean dust and oil from motor
surface.
Reduce load or replace with
larger capacity servomotor.
Tighten mounting screws.
Center coupling.
Balance coupling.
Consult your Yaskawa repre-
sentative if defective.
Consult with machine manu-
facturer.
