Programming Commands
SENSe Subsystem Commands
for each transimpedance amplifier stage. Therefore, if three sweep stages are
used, the actual sweep time may be three times the indicated sweep time (ST)
as shown at the bottom of the display.

[:SENSe]:SWEep:POINts
Sets the number of the data points acquired during a sweep. This command is
used in conjunction with the TRACe:POINts command when downloading a
trace. The minimum number of data points is three and the maximum is 9601.

[:SENSe]:SWEep:SPEed PRECision|NORMal|FAST|0|1|2
Sets the sweep speed of the tunable laser source. The actual sweep speed of
the TLS will depend on the sensitivity setting.
Precision mode offers the most accurate sweep setting to use if you are con-
cerned about wavelength and amplitude accuracy for final filter test applica-
tions. However, the increased sweep accuracy also increases the sweep time.
Normal mode provides excellent amplitude and wavelength accuracy. At a
2 nm span, two sweeps per second can be achieved.
Fast mode allows wider spans with faster sweep speed. In this mode you can
measure filters with multiple changes or see if the rejection band holds over
the wide ranges. Fast sweep mode may not be appropriate to use if the filter
has very sharp edges.
