Normalizing the Measurement
Since the WDCA stores only one normalization array per channel, you may
want to archive the normalization data in the computer and transfer the data
back as needed. Only transfer data in that has been acquired by the WDCA.
Trace data can be used, but must be taken in 5 pm steps. To calculate the
number of points the instrument expects, use the formula:
stop wavelength
start wavelength
=
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -
+
1
number of points
0.005nm
N o t e
The following examples assume that the WDCA is configured for the default
trace transfer format (ASCII).
The full normalization commands:
:INITiate:NORMalize 0|1
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:ENABle
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STARt <wavelength>
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STOP <wavelength>
To perform a normalization, connect a short cable from the laser to
receiver input l:
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STARt 1540 nm
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STOP 1543 nm
:INITiate:NORMalize 1
To turn normalization on:
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:ENABle 1, ON
To read settings back:
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STARt?
[:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STOP?
TRACe:POINts? NORM 1
To read data back:
TRACe:DATA:Y? NORM 1
-5.32065062D+000,-5.32445866D+000,-5.33022176E+000,-5.32928816E+000,-5.3325715E+000...
To upload a different normalized trace:
{:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STARt 1530 nm
{:SENSe]:NORMalize:WAVelength:STOP 1532 nm
TRACe:DATA:Y NORM 1, <value>, <value>...
NORMalize:ENABle 1, ON
