2.6.8.9 Timing Chain Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure:
Warning!
Refer to "Battery Disconnection Warning" and "Cooling
System Service Warning" in "Warnings and Notices".
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to
2.11.8.1 Battery Disconnection.
2. Discharge the engine coolant. Refer to
Coolant Discharge and
3. Remove the engine plastic shield. Refer to
Engine Shield Replacement.
4. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to
Replacement.
5. Remove the cylinder head cover. Refer to
Head Cover Replacement.
6. Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Replacement.
7. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to
Belt Tensioner Replacement.
8. Remove the generator. Refer to
Replacement.
9. Remove the water pump. Refer to
Replacement.
10. Remove the engine mounting. Refer to
Mount Replacement.
11. Remove power steering pump bolts.
Note
In the confined operating space, lower the jack to
facilitate the operation.
