4. Diagnostic Steps:
Note
Before carrying out this diagnosis step, observe the data list on scan tool and analyze the accuracy of the data, as
these will help with quick diagnosis.
Check whether there are control system DTC codes other than DTC P0011, P0012, P0016 and P0026.

Step 2 Check the following items.
Conditions For Setting The DTC (Control Strategy)
1. VVT actual angle and default angle difference greater
than or equal to 20 degrees.
2. Camshaft completed self learn.
3. The engine running time is less than or equal to 1.5
s.
4. Oil Temperature Between -40°C (-40 ºF) and 120°C
(248 ºF) .
5. Coolant Temperature Between 0°C (32 ºF) and
105°C (221 ºF) .
6. Engine Speed Between 600 rpm and 6,000 rpm.
7. No VVT circuit fault set.

(a) Connect scan tool to the datalink connector.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
(c) Press the scan tool power button.
(d) Select the following menu items: Engine/Read DTC codes.
(e) Read DTC codes.
Results:

DTC codes other than DTC P0011, P0012,
P0016 and P0026

(a) Check whether the oil viscosity is normal and whether the oil
is clean.
(b) Observe the Engine oil level. Engine oil level should be within
