Add-on module structure

An add-on module comprises of the following units.
Name
Add-on module
Add-on library
Module names
The Motion CPU module identifies add-on modules by module name.
If module names are duplicated when installing several add-on libraries, a moderate error (error code: 308FH) occurs at the
initial processing of the Motion CPU module.

Installing add-on library

The add-on library is installed to the built-in memory of the Motion CPU module via MT Developer2, or the SD memory card.

Add-on function load error

The following describes the details codes and corrective actions when add-on function load error (moderate error (error code:
308FH)) is detected.

Add-on library license authentication

There are add-on libraries that are provided free of charge, and add-on libraries that are provided for a fee.
Add-on libraries that are provided for a fee require license authentication.
License authentication
The add-on libraries provided for a fee usually have a license period.

Add-on libraries provided for a fee can no longer be used when the time remaining on the license period is 0. To continue
using the add-on library a license must be purchased.
When an add-on library license is purchased, a USB key (USB dongle with license information) is provided. The license key is
generated with the provided USB key, and the license is authenticated by writing the generated license key to the Motion
CPU.

8.5 Add-on Function
Details
Module that executes expansion functions.
A file that encompasses one or more add-on modules.
The method for calling each add-on module is defined in the add-on library.
When installing to the Motion CPU module, the entire add-on library is installed.
Corrective action
The device number of a device used by the add-on library is outside the range. Correct the device
number of the CPU parameter so that it is within the range.
An add-on library not supported by the operating system is installed. Check the operating system
version that supports the add-on library.
An add-on library that the operating system has ended support for is installed. Delete the add-on
library.
License purchase

License period

Depends on the add-on library.
Remarks
The license period (remaining time until license
authentication is required) decreases with the time in
operation (the time when the Multiple CPU system
power supply is ON). The time when the Multiple CPU
system power supply is OFF is not counted.
