REAR DRIVE SHAFT
REMOVAL
Remove the knuckle (page 17-5).

Remove the stopper ring from the inboard jOint.
DISASSEMBLY IINSPECTION
NOTE:
• Do not confuse the left and right drive shaft
parts.
Check the boots for cuts or other damage.
Check the drive shaft joints for excessive play or
noise by moving the joints in a circular direction.
If the outboard joint seems to be worn or damaged,
the drive shaft must be replaced.
NOTE :
• To replace the outboard boot, first remove the
inhoard boot as described in the following steps.
Then remove the bands and outboard boot from
the inboard end of the shaft.
• The outboard joint cannot be disassembled.
